Alger County Warrant Records Alger County Warrant Records

This page explains what this site can and cannot help with, and where an Alger County warrant question actually belongs. Almost every request belongs with the court that issued the process or with the sheriff's office, not with us. A records question, a custody question, and a legal question each go somewhere different, and sending one to the wrong counter usually costs a day. The routes below sort those questions by type and point each one at the office that can answer it.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. This site is a private reference. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, clear or recall one, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice. For any of those, contact the issuing court or the Alger County Sheriff's Office directly.

Need Official Warrant Information?

These are the offices that answer warrant questions in Alger County, sorted by what you need:

  • A district court case or missed date: call the 93rd District Court clerk, who keeps the docket for misdemeanor, traffic, civil infraction, bail, and first-stage felony matters
  • Whether a warrant is still open: ask the court that issued the process, since only that court can confirm its current status
  • Custody, service, or a law enforcement routing question: call the Alger County Sheriff's Office main line
  • A circuit record: contact the Circuit Clerk, whose office keeps circuit files for Alger, Luce, Mackinac, and Schoolcraft counties
  • A support case or a support bench warrant question: contact the Friend of the Court or use its automated support menu
  • Resolving a warrant: speak with a licensed Michigan attorney about a recall, a voluntary appearance, or bond

Start with the issuing court, which in this county is usually the 93rd District Court at 101 Court Street in Munising. Its office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at (906) 387-3879, and its fax number is (906) 387-2688.

For county law enforcement matters, the Alger County Sheriff's Office is at 101 E. Varnum in Munising, at (906) 387-4444, and the county lists that line as available around the clock. The sheriff's fax number is (906) 387-5278. Remember that the court and the sheriff sit at two different addresses, so check the address before a trip.

Circuit records and county records run through different desks. The Circuit Clerk can be reached at (906) 387-7053, and the County Clerk and Register of Deeds office at (906) 387-7067. Written record requests for county-held documents go to the courthouse at 101 Court Street, by fax at (906) 387-2156, or by email to foia@algercounty.gov.

Court staff explain procedure and do not give legal advice. If you need advice about your own case, the county's public defender office can be reached at (906) 387-7016, and any private Michigan attorney can review the docket with you.
